From the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, stricter checks on Startups and SMBs

Recently the Italian Ministry for Economic Development, with letter 3696/C of 14 February 2017, has attempted to dispel some of the doubts expressed on the legal checks that the Business Registry Offices have to carry out, following their registration in the special section dedicated to startups and innovative SMBs (preventative checks) and during the validity of the special status of innovative startup and innovative SMB (dynamic checks).

Innovative Startups: 40 Percent More in 2016

The abolition of industry studies

The recent decision of the Italian Ministry of Finance and of Sose spa to abandon industry studies is worthy of interest.
A new tool will be “set up gradually” and will be based on the “reliability” of the tax payer, allowing them to “bypass” industry studies and to stop using them as a presumptive tool for tax calculation. Read more

New regulations for executive and public tender procedures

Italy is working to streamline compliance and procedures to foster investments and free-up the credit system in the favour of businesses.
The Italian Decree Law 59/2016 (Urgent provisions relating to enforcement and bankruptcy proceedings, as well as to investors in banks in liquidation) contains important measures to speed up the recovery of debts. The measures on insolvency and enforcement procedures, in addition to those already implemented last summer, along with the institution of the so-called “patto marciano” will help to simplify the formalities and streamline procedures for the recovery of debts.
